Your privacy is very important to us. We respect your right to privacy and your desire for a secure online experience. The following states United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley's policy regarding the privacy and security of donors using our online Workplace Giving Portal.
Donor Information
United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley gathers information for the processing and acknowledgement of your gift. Most of this information is optional, but some information may be required to complete specific transactions, such as billing address for the direct billing payment option. United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley connects agencies that serve individuals in need (“Agencies”) with donors (“Donors”). We will not share the personal information we collect from you through services with third parties, except as described in this Policy, on the Site. For example, we may share your personal information as follows:
- with Agencies selected by you to receive your donation. Prior to releasing information, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley verifies that the agency exists, has a valid 501(c)3 status and does not engage in terrorist activities. If the agency does not meet this criteria, you will be contacted to clarify your wishes given the situation;
- with vendors, consultants, and other service providers ("Service Providers") who are engaged by or working with us in connection with the operation of the Site or the other services we provide and who need access to such information to carry out their work for us;
- when we believe in good faith that we are lawfully authorized or required to do so or that doing so is reasonably necessary or appropriate to comply with the law or legal processes or respond to lawful requests or legal authorities, including responding to lawful subpoenas, warrants, or court orders;
- in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition, or in any other situation where personal information may be disclosed or transferred as one of the business assets of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
Donor Confidentiality
United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley provides the options to mark your gift as anonymous. You may select to remain anonymous to the Agency you selected and/or you may select to remain anonymous in publications or any donor listing published by United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
About Children (Under 18)
For their protection, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley asks that children under the age of 18 do not use this website for donation purposes without the consent of a parent or guardian.
Security
United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley has addressed the safety and security of your transaction with the greatest consideration. We use a high-grade encryption and the https security protocol, SSL, to communicate with your browser software. Credit Card payments are PCI Compliant and your credit card number is not stored in our databases. These methods are the industry standard security protocol, which make it extremely difficult for anyone else to intercept the information you send us.
